Maria Johanne holds a Bachelor's degree in Manuscript Writing from Westerdals (2021–2024) and has completed additional coursework in Icelandic language and culture, as well as in the contemporary portrayal of Ibsen's drama. In 2024, she began pursuing a second Bachelor's degree, this time in Cognitive Science.
From 2021 to 2024, Maria gained professional experience as a sound engineer at Radio Nova, further broadening her interdisciplinary skill set.
The winter of 2025, Maria participated in an intensive course "Refleksjon" in light design at USF Verftet.
Maria Johanne has trained in a wide range of dance styles, including improvisation, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and ballet, since the age of ten. She has been a member of three youth dance companies: ESC Youth Company (2017–2019), På Tå Hev (2019), and PUR Jazz Company (2020).
In 2018 and 2019, Maria performed in Dream On, Baby with ESC Youth Company, directed by Alan Lucien Øyen. The production was later restaged at the CODA Festival in Oslo in 2019 at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.
In the fall of 2023, Maria worked as an assistant and script translator for Alan Lucien Øyen’s Nothing Personal at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.
